A short summary chapters from 1 to 6

In 1837 A weak baby was born in a local poor house English Town.  After giving birth the mother died, kissing the baby.  The baby was then adopted by the local poor house.

The baby boy was given the name Oliver Twist by Mr.Bumble the town beadle according to the Alphabetical order.  Mr.Bumble ill treated the poor orphans.  Mrs.Maan too was selfish lady like Mr.Bumble and did not look after the orphans with love and care.

Oliver on his Ninth Birthday was put in a cellar after a sound thrashing for the great crime of daring to be hungry.  Mr.Bumble came to take Oliver to a new local house.  There they made more strict rules to the kids.  Oliver was punished so severely for asking more food and sold to a local undertaker.  There too he was treated brutally.  Oliver ran away and reached London.  He was tired and hungry. There he was helped by a strange boy whose name was Dodger.  Oliver was taken to Fagin the leader of thieves gang,  He trained the small kids to criminal life.  But Oliver didn't know their ways of life.

One day Oliver was taken out with two other boys Dodger and Charley both slowly picked the pocket handkerchief from the old gentleman at the bookstall and ran away.  Unfortunately Oliver was arrested and taken to the court.  Before the final judgement bookstall owner came and saved Oliver by saying the truth that Oliver was innocent as his companions were culprits.  The old gentleman who complained now felt for Oliver and took him to his home.

Oliver recovered soon under the lover and care of Mr.Brownlow the old gentleman and his house keeper Mrs.Bedwin.  Mr.Brownlow was shocked to see the obvious likeness of the lady in the portrait and Oliver.  Everybody was so kind and gentle, that Oliver began to think  this was heaven after the kind of life that he had lived before.  He gave his old clothes to a servant, who gave to a Jew.

Mr.Grimwig friend of Mr.Brownlow came to see Oliver, he could not trust the boy as he looked innocent, so Mr. Brownlow  sent Oliver to return the books to prove his honesty to Mr.Grimwig.
At the same time Fagin who lost Oliver was tensed and shouted angrily at all.  Then he decided to send Miss.Nancy to fetch Oliver with a decent dress.

Nancy who was persuaded by bribes and threats went in neat dress and caught Oliver pretending she was Oliver's sister creating a fake story as Oliver ran away from his mother and joined a gang of thieves. Nancy saved Oliver when Fagin sprang to strike him.  Then Fagin and Bill sikes discussed  their plan to rob at Chertsey.  But Bill disappointed Fagin by saying he needs a small boy who could enter the house through a small hole.  Fagin was delighted to hear that and said he would like to send Oliver to do the job.  As Oliver was small to his age selected by them to do the job.

chapter from 7 to 12

Oliver was allotted for the new Job with Bill and Toby. They together went to Chertsey, and jumped over the wall. Oliver suddenly realized their object of their expedition. He cried and begged to leave him. But Bill threatened him with pistol and shouted at Oliver to get into the house and open the main door.   But before he could do, the people in the house woke up and started shooting at them. Bill dragged Oliver and ran, he left Oliver in the ditch and escaped.
Fagin was furious after hearing that the robbery was a failure. A New stranger met Fagin and shouted at him for the failure. Then he ordered Fagin to make Oliver a thief. Their secret conversation was heard by a shadow.
Oliver who was wounded, slowly with pain knocked feebly at door. The door was opened and the owner Miss.Rose and her Aunt Mrs. Maylie came and saw the poor boy and felt so much pity for him. They took good care and love. Oliver at last found his good friends.
Oliver after recovering informed Rose about Fagin and his evil activities, also about Brownlow and his kindness, he also requested that he would like to meet Brownlow.  Oliver went with doctor Losberne with Rose’s permission in search of Brownlow. But he found the house was empty and informed that Brownlow sold all his properties and gone to West Indies.
Oliver spent his days with Rose and Mrs.Maylie happily. One day he had a day dream and saw Fagin and tall man with a scar, with whom Oliver bumped earlier. Oliver shouted in fear and Mrs.Maylie’s son came to comfort Oliver.
Monks the half-brother of Oliver met Mr. Bumble to find out more details about Oliver’s birth details and evidences. Mr. Bumble introduced his wife Mrs. Bumble. Monk gave 25pounds as she demanded and she told that she had stolen the evidences from Oliver’s mother’s nurse after her death. She gave a small parcel to Monks it contained a locket with a strand of hair and ring with a name “Agnes” and the year of Oliver’s birth. Monk tied it and threw it into the canal and came happily that Oliver’s birth identify was hidden in the canal.
